​5052 aluminum is an alloy similar to 3003 aluminum, but with better corrosion resistance and strength. It is typically used for cooking utensils, mail boxes, railings, and more 5052 is alloyed with 2.5% magnesium.

5052 aluminum is an alloy similar to 3003 aluminum, but with better corrosion resistance and strength. It is typically used for cooking utensils, mail boxes, railings, and more 5052 is alloyed with 2.5% magnesium. Tensile strength range is 31 to 44 KSI. 5052 has excellent workability, weldability and corrosion resisitance. 

5052 aluminum sheet is mainly used for high requirements of plasticity and good weldability, but also used in traffic vehicles, ships sheet metal parts, instruments, street lamps, brackets and rivets, hardware, electrical appliances, such as shell. Also used in aircraft fuel tanks, tubing, aerospace aluminum alloy materials, is a typical rust proof alloy material.

Characteristics: Lightweight, semi-smooth surface with a dull mill finish.

Workability: Excellent candidate for most processing techniques. High strength with good corrosion resistance. Non-heat treatable product.

Applications: Commonly machined to end-user specifications. Aircraft, Marine, and Commercial grade parts. 

5052 Aluminum Plate is primarily alloyed with magnesium and chromium. It has good workability, medium static strength, high fatigue strength, good weldability, and very good corrosion resistance, especially in marine atmospheres. It also has the low density and excellent thermal conductivity, used for aircraft fuel tanks, storm shutters, refrigerator liners and panels, etc.    

5052 aluminum plate exhibits higher corrosion resistance than other aluminum alloys, and a higher strength than 3003 aluminum plate. Additionally, it maintains a superiori resistance to salt water, making it a popular material for marine applications. 5052 aluminum plate is easy to form, stamp, weld and finish. With the proper setup, it has fair machinability.
