6061 aluminum sheet is the most versatile and widely used of heat treat grades. It has excellent machinability, weldability, and medium strength. (It is less strong when compared to aluminum 2024 and 7075). 6061 aluminum has great welding and brazing abilities due to its high corrosion resistance at all temperatures. It can be fabricated by most of the commonly used techniques and it has good workability in the annealed condition. Typical applications include pipe fittings and bridge components.

3003 aluminum is the most widely used aluminum alloy. It has excellent workability and corrosion resistance and reacts well to finishing such as laminating or anodizing. It is non-heat-treatable. It is typically used for pressure vessels, garage doors, builder’s hardware, and more.
This is the highest strength alloy of the more non-heat-treatable grades. Its fatigue strength is higher than most other aluminum grades. Alloy 5052 has good resistance to the marine atmosphere and saltwater corrosion and excellent workability. It can be easily drawn or formed into intricate shapes.
5050-H32 aluminum is 5050 aluminum in the H32 temper. To achieve this temper, the metal is strain hardened and then stabilized, to a strength that is roughly a quarter of the way between annealed (O) and full-hard (H38).
The graph bars on the material properties cards below compare 5050-H32 aluminum to 5000-series alloys (top), all-aluminum alloys (middle), and the entire database (bottom). A full bar means this is the highest value in the relevant set. A half-full bar means it's 50% of the highest, and so on.
This is one of the highest strength aluminum alloys available. It has an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, and it is ideally used for highly stressed parts. 7075 aluminum sheet used mostly in aircraft and transportation industries where strength is critical. Can be used as a mold material for the plastics industry.
